I know you, dear reader, have been wondering where I am. Ok fine, my only reader is me, but that is beside the point. I've been dying to put together one of those posts like the amazing scrapbook blogs I read every day- a cute layout or altered project and a little bit about my process. I still plan to do that. I hurt my back at the end of January, and it's really hard for me to sit at my desk and thus scrapbook. Therefore, my cute, brilliant scrapbook-related posts will just have to wait.
I've been going to physical therapy twice a week. I guess it's good in that it holds me accountable, but I feel like I would get the same out of it if my physical therapist just emailed me the exercises. It also makes me feel very behind on pop culture. Once we get started, he asks me if I watched American Idol or the Oscars or whatever popular tv show was on the night before. Inevitably, the answer is no. I don't really like tv. I'd rather spend my invalidness making up new words like invalidness and reading or surfing the web. In case you're wondering, we talk about the Sox instead, which suites me just fine.
1st Spring Training game started 40 min ago :) It feels like spring already.
Good thing because I think I left my winter jacket at the chiropractor's office. Today was my first appointment. I didn't know my back could pop like that. She says my back is still swollen, so I need to keep icing it for the next couple of days. I hope between that and the physical therapy I start feeling like myself again.
That's all for now dear reader. Goodnight!

Productive Day
Ok, so maybe I didn't have the most exciting weekend on record. Although Alison giving out her business card was amusing, but that's a story for another time. My back is still hurting, but I'm sick of laying around babying it. I decided against spending the day scrapbooking, which would have been a lot of fun, but would have hurt my back. Instead, I did a bunch of those little things that I've been rewriting on my to-do list every week- back up computer files, fill out FASFA, organize paperwork, etc. It feels good to finally cross those things off and know that they won't appear on my to-do list next week. Now if only I get around to ordering all my Christmas pictures, I'll be really happy...

Red Sox vs. Yankees Tickets
I got them!! Sunday, June 3rd. I can't wait! I still hate the whole process of getting Red Sox tickets, but I'm ecstatic that I'll be at another Yankees game. Now, I wonder who will be pitching?

Chicken Little
I feel like Chicken Little. The sky is falling. The sky is falling! The sky is FALLING!! Only, it is not the sky that is falling. Or rather, not all of it. The roof is leaking. The roof is leaking! The roof is LEAKING!!
We were supposed to get a snow storm last night and today. We got a little bit of snow, but then it turned to ice. Most people from my company stayed home from work because we were afraid the roads would be very bad. I do not know about the roads, but it was good that I stayed home just the same. For some time I heard dripping water. I thought to myself, Boy the rain is really coming down on the skylight! At some point (hey, I was focused on work), I realized the "rain" was just a little too intense and that I better go investigate. I opened my bathroom door and everything was sopping wet. Our rug must have weighed 10 pounds.
~oops, have to go empty the buckets~
While I'm on the topic of emptying buckets... I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago. I mean, really hurt it. I had to sleep on the floor for over a week. I was just starting to feel ok, but as the only one home, I have to bend over and lift the buckets to empty them. That is not helping my back situation.
Anyway, as any good renter would do, I called my landlord to complain about the leak. The roof is leaking. He asked me to clean up the water and he'd call back. Mind you, I do not have enough towels to clean up all the water. He calls back. The roof is leaking! He's trying to find a roofer to come fix the problem, but it is still raining/sleeting so most people are too scared to get on the roof and fix the leak. I'm supposed to continue emptying the buckets until he finds a roofer. He calls back. The roof is LEAKING!! A roofer is on his way, in an hour or more. Keep emptying the buckets.
So here it is, over an hour later, no roofer, and my bathroom is still flooded. I have a bucket and three mixing bowls trying to catch all the excess water. Can you imagine what would have happened if I had not stayed home from work? There might not have been anyone home until 7pm- 4 to 5 hours after the leak started. I'm sure the people in the two floors below us would not have been too happy.
It's getting dark. I hope the roofer gets here soon. My back hurts.
The roof is leaking. The roof is leaking! The roof is LEAKING!!

What We Can Learn From Children
I'm sitting at my computer with tears streaming down my face. I just read one of the sweetest things I'd ever heard. I'm not quite sure how to link it here (sorry, please be patient with my blog naivete), but if you can, go check out Donna Downey's blog (donnadowney dot typepad dot com). Her entry tonight is about how her 6 year old daughter saw the "Six Degrees" badge on her blog and asked her why it was there. Donna explained that it was a picture of a little boy who has autism and is to raise awareness and money to help people with autism. The little girl asked if she could donate money that she had earned ($38!) to help, and she did. The only way I can express how I feel about the wonderful thing that little girl did is to cry. It is truly the sweetest, most innocent and selfless thing I have heard in a very long time. It gives me hope.
